Completing the course allows you to remove up to 4 demerit points from your driving record. You can use this once every 5 years. After completing the course, take your certificate to any Access Nova Scotia office to have the points removed.

Will I get a certificate after completing the course?

Yes. Upon successful completion, you will receive a certificate by email within 24 hours. A physical copy can also be picked up by contacting the school. Our certificate is recognized by Access Nova Scotia and is valid anywhere in Canada.

How long do I have to complete the course?

You can complete the course at your own pace. Most students finish within 1-2 weeks. You have up to 3 months from the enrollment date to complete the course.

Can I use this course to remove the N from my license?

A defensive driving course is a government-approved training program that teaches licensed drivers how to anticipate hazards, avoid collisions, and make safer decisions on the road. In Nova Scotia, the 6-hour Defensive Driving Course (DDC) is certified by the Canada Safety Council and recognized by Access Nova Scotia (Registry of Motor Vehicles).
